Dream Big Baby!
During our trip to Sierra Leone in December 2008, Niyah organized "Dream Big Baby!", a personal development party for the 5 girls whose education we support. Joined by their caregivers (grandmothers and uncle), Bora, Sentu, Miniatu, Rugiatu and Tity enjoyed an afternoon of laughter, good food and a lively discussion of their dreams and aspirations for life. Zarinah inspired the young ladies to know they have the ability to accomplish anything they desire.
The Dream Party
With an array of art supplies at their disposal, the girls began to fill their dream boards. Some focused on a future career like a school teacher, and others visualized their future family and husbands. For most, it was the first time to share their dreams outloud with family and friends. It was obvious that the message also reached many of the caregivers themselves.

Zarinah and Halim with friends and the girls
Each girl was given the gift of material and sewing money to make a new outfit. We hope they enjoyed it! Please keep these girls in your prayers....they are working hard to create a life of peace and prosperity!
Much appreciation goes to:Al Fajr Islamic Mission for providing our lodging and space to hold the party
Hajja Miniatu Konneh for handling the logistics
Sheikh Issa and his wife Mahwa for preparing the food and drinks
Ahmed Deen Swaray for taking pictures and running errands
The El-Amins (my parents Abdullah and Cheryl, Maurice and Idris) for donating to the project
