Imagine this is your home...

Most of you know that NIYAH has officially kicked off a three-month intensive fundraising drive to provide a functional water well for the children of Sierra Leone.   On April 13, 2009, we received recent pictures from our proposed site in Mile 91 Sierra Leone. Hajja Konneh and Sheik Issa, Staff of Life Sierra Leone informed us that the community started to dig a water well. They have struck  but do not have the equipment needed to go deeper for pure water. As you can see the water is still very dirty. Our goal is to raise the money needed to build a proper well. Help if you can!

Get Youth Involved: 

This is a perfect opportunity to organize a service learning project for youth.  Youth have the opportunity to learn more about international poverty while raising money to do something about it.  If you are interested in organizing a project, contact us!

Spread the word or Organize a local fundraiser:

Host a local fundraiser like a 2 mile community walk.  Half way through the walk, have the participants pick up a jug of water and carry it back to the starting point.  It's a really powerful way for people to understand how others live a bit better.
